Scouts

On The Rocks offers a one day, three hour class for scouts of all ages to work toward earning their Climbing Badge/Adventure Badge through the Girl Scouts of America or the Boy Scouts of America! Our lead instructor, Nick, is a certified BSA merit badge counselor. Climbing curriculum will vary slightly depending on badge requirements, but scouts will typically go through the following:

  • Receive a gym orientation and general climbing education
  • Learn introductory and intermediate climbing techniques
  • Learn how to belay a climber and tie the most common climbing knots
  • Have time to practice the skills learned after classes are completed
  • Boy Scouts will also learn to rappel as required in their curriculum

*All instructors are certified Climbing Wall Instructors through either the Climbing Wall Association (CWA) or the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA).

Pricing:

  • 1-8 Scouts $20/ scout (1 instructor required)
  • 9- 16 scouts $18/ scout (2 instructors required)
  • $60/ instructor

Booking times are flexible. Please reach out to Coordinator Tom at support@climbontherocks.com with any booking requests.

If your Troop would like to have an outing at On The Rocks and do not want additional education for a badge, check out our Groups Events page below:
