Climbing Classes
Up ENDing Parkinsons
Up ENDing Parkinson's is a free program for people living with Parkinson's Disease. The program was started in Alexandria, VA and is now also being offered at On The Rocks.Climbing is an activity that benefits the body, the mind, and the soul.
- For the body, climbing can help increase grip strength, mobility and can act as a full body workout.
- For the mind, climbing requires you to problem solve in order to make your way up the different routes.
- For the soul, the climbing community offers a welcoming and inclusive attitude that understands we all deal with similar challenges on and off the wall.
For more information about why climbing helps visit Up ENDing Parkinson's website: https://www.upendparkinsons.com/why-research-climbing. Or come try it for yourself. The program is FREE.Questions about the program or how to volunteer contact Tom at support@climbontherocks.com.

In order to take our lead class, you must be able to prove your ability to cleanly climb three 5.9 routes in a session. You must also demonstrate proficiency in top rope belay. This must be completed BEFORE scheduling the lead class, and a gym employee must witness the climb and belay and sign off on it via paperwork located at the front desk.
